About The Opportunity We currently have an opportunity for an experienced EHS management professional to join us as EHS State Manager NSW & ACT. In this key role you will be part of a small, agile team supporting a national organisation, driving safety culture and making a genuine difference. Your key areas of focus will be supporting the business-wide safety compliance program and providing technical support and coaching to nine sites (eight in NSW, one in ACT.) Responsibilities include: - Oversee the day-to-day management and optimisation of the Ventora safety platform, ensuring data accuracy and providing support and training to ensure users can use it effectively
- Develop and maintain an internal compliance audit program to ensure Ventora continues to meet compliance requirements, including coaching and guiding a cross-site audit program to ensure effective oversight of ongoing safety framework implementation
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support EHS management framework implementation and assist in the development of training and education content
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of a system of document control and communication to ensure staff have easy access to current policies and procedures
- Analyse safety performance, make strategic recommendations and drive sustainable improvement to EHS systems
- Lead the states’ EHS continuous improvement process and provide support and guidance to NSW and ACT-based businesses on achieving safety success
About You You will be a tertiary-qualified EHS professional who is passionate about EHS compliance and continuous improvement. Equally at home managing safety systems as you are in coaching and mentoring colleagues across multiple sites, your communication, engagement and influencing skills will play a key part in ensuring your success in this rewarding role. You will also have: - Strong understanding of safety software platforms
- Experience in developing in-house compliance tools
- Proven experience in implementing contemporary EHS management frameworks
- Solid working knowledge of WHSE technical and legislative requirements, employment legislation and Safe Work Australia codes of practice
- Demonstrable experience of presenting data-driven business cases and influencing partners through partnering
- Strong computer literacy and understanding of business information systems available to monitor, measure, manage and analyse WHSE systems performance
- Experience of working within a geographically dispersed organisation.
