About The Opportunity

We are seeking a National Manufacturing Manager to deliver sustainable and profitable business operations across all Ventora Glass manufacturing sites in Australia. As part of the senior leadership team, you will contribute to the strategy and direction of the Ventora Glass business nationally. You will work closely with the National Sales Manager to ensure demand in the business remains strong and that the business is growing market share by delivering on its promises to our valued customers.

Responsibilities include:

• To provide leadership to the management team and entire organisation
• Control, co-ordinate and monitor all manufacturing related activities for the achievement of business budgeted objectives
• Proactively contribute to and drive a safe and supportive workplace culture. Implement and maintain Company Workplace, Health and Safety management systems and initiatives to improve productivity
• In consultation with local Operational Managers, develop operational systems/processes to assist in the control of quality, costs, raw materials, inventories, etc.
• Review analyses of activities, costs, operations, sales and forecast data to determine department or division progression toward stated goals and objectives and to gain insights into how to improve performance, productivity and maximise growth.
• In consultation with the National Sales Manager, contribute to the design and implementation of the strategic business plan to expand the company’s customer base, and operational capabilities.
• Assess risk involved with new initiatives, ensure deadlines are met and be ready to handle unexpected situations.
• Identify opportunities to expand the business, including through new markets, and through operational technology advances.

About You

As a safety-focussed General Manager or Operations manager in the glass manufacturing and processing industry, you will have demonstrable experience in implementing lean methodologies and engaging stakeholders to bring them on board for the change journey. Your industry knowledge and commercial acumen combined with your mentoring abilities will help you to forge effective working relationships and to develop your team of 6 direct reports.

You will also have:

• Ability to communicate with and influence at all levels
• Proven experience of budgetary planning and implementation
• Ability to stay abreast of multiple concurrent projects and to adapt to changes and competing demands
• Proven experience in inspiring, motivating and leading teams to achieve desired outcomes
• Results-driven mindset with a focus on meeting/ exceeding KPIs
• Outstanding organisation, prioritising and time management skills
• Innovative approach to resolving challenges and improving processes.
