About the Opportunity 

We have a newly created role available to join our industry-leading Trend Girraween Powderline plant team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our state-of-the-art powder coating plant. You will lead a skilled and motivated production team with responsibilities across material handling and movement, the operation of the vertical coating line, packaging and dispatch, and plant maintenance.

The plant is a key element of our Australia wide vertically integrated supply chain, supporting our seven window and door manufacturing plants working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Management of the plant to maximise Delivery In Full and On Time, maintaining a strong customer focus
• Nurture and develop the team and culture through leadership, training and mentorship.
• Hit the numbers on production, quality, productivity and costs
• Execute operational maintenance of the plant to adhere to the defined maintenance requirements
• Use your knowledge and experience to offer operational improvements to the plant and ancillary operations

About You

We’re looking to leverage your experience in people management in a manufacturing environment, along with managing and growing the capability of a medium size team of skilled production employees whilst maintaining high levels of employee engagement, as key deliverables of this role. You need to have an open and transparent communication style, including the ability to gain trust, you need to have the ability to connect with a range of people at different levels and the capacity to work well across all stakeholder groups to provide operational advice.

Experience in powder coating operations is a definite plus.

In addition, you must have:

• Previous supervisory experience within a process manufacturing environment
• Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate your employees
• WHS exposure with a focus on Zero Harm at all times
• Skills using modern manufacturing systems (such as SAP)
• A well developed understanding of materials management
• A can-do attitude
