About the Opportunity

We currently have a newly-created opportunity for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our established team in Rowville. It’s an exciting time to join the team as we finalise the implementation of SAP to help streamline our purchasing process. In this role you will help ensure the cost-effective and timely purchase of raw materials required for the day-to-day operations of the business by:

• Ensuring all daily and cycle purchasing requirements are actioned in order to meet customer commitments
• Maintaining inventory at required levels
• The timely processing of requests for new vendor set-ups
• Support national group procurement functions and initiatives
• Performing related administration and reporting tasks in SAP, Excel and other systems
• Proactively looking for improvement opportunities in relation to processes and vendors

About You

Naturally we will provide you with training and on-going support on our processes and systems to help ensure your success in the role. Your previous purchasing experience combined with your pro-active approach and your well-rounded communication skills will help you to hit the ground running.

You will also have:

• Excellent time management and organisation skills
• A ‘team player’ mindset
• Excellent attention to detail
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook
• Good literacy and numeracy skills
• Previous SAP experience (highly regarded but not essential)
• Previous purchasing experience within the building supplies industry (preferred but not essential)
