About our Opportunity We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager for our showerscreens and wardrobes manufacturing site in Regency Park. Your primary role is to inspire your team (employees and contractors) to achieve performance and productivity targets, meet company standards, and represent our brand with professionalism, quality, service and safety. Reporting to the Coordinating General Manager, you will lead a team of 5 direct reports overseeing Production, Logistics, Purchasing, Customer Service and Installation with an overall workforce of just under 20 employees. You will need to bring energy, resilience and enthusiasm to the role. You will demonstrate a practical hands-on approach as this is a small business. You will add value to your team by lifting their motivation and overall effectiveness through coaching, training and effective planning. You will: - manage all manufacturing and warehousing activities and processes to ensure daily planned production requirements are actioned
- effectively manage inventory
- manage plant maintenance to support optimal production efficiencies at optimal cost
- managing the performance of operations to meet company quality and service standards
- implement and maintain Company environmental management systems that will enable efficient use of resources, reduce waste, and minimise the impact on the environment
About You Ideally you will have experience in the building materials industry along with experience managing installers. You will have proven people leadership and stakeholder management skills and a commitment to safety. Ideally, you will have: - knowledge of OHSMS, policies, processes and SWIs to drive proactive and preventative safety culture
- experience leading, organising, planning, and controlling unit operations to achieve business goals, objectives and deliver exceptional customer experiences
- experience in lean manufacturing, capacity planning, MRP driven procurement, purchasing-inventory management, logistics, and installations
- understanding of building process and industry knowledge including reading and interpreting detailed diagrams, job sheets and cutting lists
- capacity planning skills to coordinate the most efficient and low-cost use of resources and apply effective strategies to manage capacity constraints
- knowledge of inventory and control techniques and best practices
- capability of breaking down product information into components and bills of materials, applying out of square measurements, applying accurate material codes and sizes
