The Opportunity We’re seeking an experienced R&D Manager to lead product innovation and continuous improvement across our Architectural Windows portfolio. Reporting to the Marketing Manager – Breezway/Aneeta, this role is responsible for managing new product development from concept through to manufacturing and commercialisation, while leading a multidisciplinary technical team including engineers, industrial designers, a draftsperson and a testing coordinator. This is a hands-on leadership role with strong influence across product, engineering, testing and manufacturing. Key Responsibilities - Lead end-to-end new product development and product improvement initiatives
- Manage product design, engineering and design for manufacturing
- Lead, mentor and develop the technical team
- Oversee workload planning, capability development and performance of the R&D team
- Provide technical advice aligned to the NCC and Australian Standards
- Maintain technical documentation and product specification manuals
- Ensure NATA accreditation, audits and laboratory compliance
- Monitor emerging technologies, materials and manufacturing methods
- Drive continuous improvement and cost optimisation initiatives
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the business
About You - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Design or related discipline
- Proven experience in new product development and R&D management
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams
- Strong background in design for manufacturing
- Experience managing outsourced development through contractors or suppliers
- Knowledge of building products or the window industry is highly regarded
- Proficient in CAD and SolidWorks
- Strong leadership, problem solving and decision making skills
- Collaborative communicator with a quality and safety focused mindset
